Using Family Ancestry Search Engines to Research My Book

As I planned to write a memoir about my father, I had need to obtain information about my father's early life. I initially turned to Ancestry.com (yearly fee) as my primary research site. I later added FamilySearch (no fee) to augment my research.
My experience in using these research engines has been highly satisfactory and rewarding. Both sites are user friendly and will help the beginner to start a family tree. The hints and guides on where to search are helpful and plentiful. With use and experience, you become more comfortable, and in short order, you become confident in using your own imagination and intuition to locate new sources.
The results for me have been highly successful, and I was provided the information I needed to begin my writing in short order. The internet offers a powerful tool and resource at our fingertips to readily obtain information and data that would otherwise have taken countless research hours to capture.
The amount and quality of the information obtained is truly amazing, and at the same time, makes the search process exciting. Remarkably, I was able to recreate my father's early life as close as I possibly could with family ancestry research engines. This August, Koehler Books will be releasing the result of this labor, Knowing My Father. Learn more at the link to my website in the comments.
